Privacy policy
Version of October 15, 2026. Draft pending legal review.
Taxi Hub is an app for taxi drivers, delivery people and passengers: it records the work shift (searching, rides or deliveries, pauses) so the driver can see her own reports and where and when there is more demand, and it lets a passenger find a free taxi nearby and look after her own vehicle and expenses. This policy explains which data the app collects, what for, and what it never collects.
Who is responsible
The Taxi Hub team is responsible for the data. Contact: privacy@taxihub.ai.
What the app collects
- Account: your e-mail and, when you sign in with Google, the name and photo of the Google account.
- Work: when you start and end each state (searching, with a passenger, paused) and the app version.
- Location, only while working: the position when you tap a button, one position per minute while searching, and the total distance of each ride. The route points of a ride never leave your phone.
- Fares you report at the end of the ride, and the income source you choose (street, radio taxi, apps).
- Your perception of the passengers, in broad categories (group, age range, sex), only if you answer. It does not identify anyone.
- Interviews (premium plan): audio recorded only with the passenger's verbal consent, at the start of the recording itself. The audio is sent for transcription and deleted from the phone afterwards; only the text is kept.
- Your notes while searching (premium plan), recorded and transcribed the same way.
- What you choose to register: your profile (age range, sex), your cars, their maintenance, due dates, expenses and goals.
- The weather at the start of each search and ride, fetched from the position.
- In a fuel expense, if you fill them in: the fuel, the price per liter, the odometer, whether the tank was filled up and the gas station. To suggest the station, the app uses your position at that moment.
- Your profiles in the app (passenger, taxi driver, delivery), the one you use and when you switch.
- As a passenger, if you fill them in: what you prefer in a taxi, your frequent places and trips. They help the demand analysis and are never shown to the drivers.
- When you say you want a taxi (the radar): your position rounded to about 100 m, your filters, your profile, the time and how it ended; where you are going, only if you say it, rounded to about 100 m; and whether the taxi that picked you up confirmed it with your code.
- As a taxi driver on the radar: while you search, your position rounded to about 100 m every minute, your vehicle type (car or motorcycle), what your taxi offers, and your phone's notification address, so the alerts reach you only while you search.
- The phone language, to know which translations are missing.
- A random number of the app on your phone (not of the phone itself), to keep the account on one phone at a time, and when it changes phone.
What the app never collects
The passenger's name, phone, documents, photos or payment method; your contacts and photos; the screen of other apps. The app does not record audio without your tap, nor while paused or off duty.
What the data is for
- Your own reports: earnings, hours, km, expenses, goals, cash flow and heat map.
- The fare estimate at the end of the ride, calculated on your phone.
- The where-to-go suggestion (premium plan), calculated on your phone from your own rides.
- The ride estimate (premium plan): the route, the time and the fare to the destination you type or say, calculated on your phone from your own rides. The destination stays on your phone.
- The radar: the free taxis near a passenger, and the alert to the taxis near someone who wants one.
- The passengers' fare estimate: if you set your fare table, it is combined on the server with the tables of at least two other drivers of your region; the passenger sees only the result, never your table.
- Demand analysis: combined data of many drivers and passengers, without identifying anyone, to show where and when there is more demand.
What other users see
When you register a fuel expense at a gas station found on the map, the price per liter, the fuel, the day and the station (its name and its place on the map, not yours) are published for every Taxi Hub driver, on the fuel prices map. It is anonymous: it never carries your name, your account, the time or the amount you paid. A price, once published, stays on the map of its days.
The radar: while you search as a taxi driver on the radar (you can turn it off in Settings), the passengers nearby see a free taxi about where you are (rounded to about 100 m), its type and what it offers, and whether a woman is driving, only if you chose to show it. When you say you want a taxi, the free taxis within 2 km see your position rounded to about 100 m and your filters, for 15 minutes. Where you are going, if you say it, is seen only by the taxi that picks you up, when you tell the driver your code. Neither side sees a name, a plate, a phone or a photo.
Who processes the data
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, the radar's server functions and the notifications), on Google's servers. The positions of the taxis are read only by the server, never by other users.
- AssemblyAI (transcription of the audio). The transcription is deleted at AssemblyAI right after it arrives.
- Open-Meteo (weather): receives the position, rounded, without your identity.
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap (map background): receive the map area shown.
- OpenStreetMap, through the Overpass service (gas stations nearby): receives your position, rounded to about 100 m, when you register a fuel expense, without your identity.
- Geoapify, with OpenStreetMap data (the search of a destination): through our server, receives what you type or say and your position rounded to about 1 km, without your identity.
- OpenStreetMap, through the OSRM service (the route of a ride estimate): receives where you are and the destination, rounded to about 100 m, without your identity.
- Your phone's speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone), when you say the destination: your voice is processed by that service, under its own terms; the app receives only the words and keeps no audio.
- Nager.Date (holidays): receives only the country.
- Google Play and the App Store, when you buy the premium plan. The app never sees your card.
How long it is kept
